Tumor Board

GO’s tumor board is an international collaboration between physicians to advise on treatment planning for complex oncology cases. Physicians with a broad range of specialties and experience consult with oncologists from clinics in low- or middle- income countries, providing expert input and guidance to help optimize cancer care and outcomes for patients.


Meet the Board

Dr. James Dickerson MS, MD

Dr. Dickerson is a Medical Oncologist and Assistant Professor at Stanford University specializing in breast cancer. He has led Global Oncology’s research and advocacy projects in Belize since 2021 and brings a wealth of experience in both health policy and breast cancer treatment.

Dr. Francine Halberg MD

Dr. Halberg is a radiation oncologist based in Marin County, California who specializes in breast cancer treatment. Since joining Global Oncology in 2023, Dr. Halberg has been deeply involved in driving the organization’s advocacy initiatives in Belize, offering clinical expertise and policy advice to help improve access to radiation treatment for Belizeans with cancer.


Dr. Susan Knox MD, PhD

Dr. Knox is a professor emeritus at Stanford University’s School of Medicine, specializing in radiation oncology, particularly breast cancer and melanoma. Since joining Global Oncology in 2023, Dr.Knox has played a key role in advancing the organization’s advocacy efforts in Belize, providing expert guidance on policy initiatives to expand access to radiation therapy for patients with cancer.


Dr. Sandra Zaky MD

Dr. Zaky is a radiation oncologist at Stanford University’s School of Medicine and brings interests in breast, skin, and central nervous system cancers. Since 2024, she has contributed her clinical insight to Global Oncology’s tumor board activities, enhancing multidisciplinary case discussions and improving care coordination for patients in Belize.
